Reading has many benefits:
- reading with children can an enjoyable and fun
- reading allows us to have quiet time without distractions
- it can be relaxing
- helps to build empathy and a close bond
- the earlier parents read to children; they are more likely to enjoy reading themselves
- children who read for pleasure tend to do better in a wide range of subjects at school
- it can help with language and speech development
- positively impacts children’s wellbeing
Parents reading together and sharing stories with children for a few minutes a day can promote mental wellbeing and find ways to love reading.
