After you are referred, we will ask you to come and talk to us at the place closest to you.

We will meet with you and your family to talk together. You can also choose to talk to us alone if you want. Our first meeting usually lasts about an hour. We will chat about your worries, your daily life, and what you hope to get from coming here.

Below are some of the things we ask about:

  • How you are feeling, what is going well and what isn't
  • Daily life - your sleep, eating and activities
  • How safe you feel
  • How things are at nursery/school/college
  • Family life and friendships/relationships
  • Your early life (what you were like as a baby and how things went)

It is normal to feel a little worried about the appointment, but we will do everything we can to help you feel relaxed.

While you are waiting there are different information workshops you can join to find out more
