Who we are?

The Healthy Heads Team is a school based mental health service based in Sunderland and provided by South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust.

Our team is built up of Primary Mental Health Workers, Senior Educational Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP), EMHPs and trainee EMHPs.

Together we support children, young people and their families who are struggling with Mild-Moderate mental health and emotional well-being difficulties.

We support children and young people from Reception age to further education.
We work Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, offering support 52 weeks of the year.

3 Roles of the Mental Health Support Team

  1. To offer advice and support to school staff.

  2. To support Mental Health leads in each setting to develop a whole school approach to ensure that all the children, young people and staff work together to understand and support mental health and well-being. We do this through; whole class sessions, assemblies, parent workshops and staff training.
